FIRST
In Brief
The main goal of FIRST Robotics is to encourage the youth of tomorrow to pursue interests in math, science, and new technologies. It strives to find more students interested in becoming the new technological leaders of tomorrow and through determination and effort, have them apply their talents towards the challenges of the future. From the inception of FIRST Robotics to the present day, participation has expanded by leaps and bounds. When FIRST began in 1992, there were only 28 teams and the competition took place in a New Hampshire high-school Gym. Since then, the organization has flourished. Now FIRST has attained over 150,000 participants and the annual competition takes place in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.Vision
"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."
