FIRST Breakaway is a game played on the field illustrated in the figure below. Two alliances, one red and one blue compete on a 27' by 54' field. It is a good idea for teams to build robots that are able to navigate around or under bumps to collect soccer balls and score points. The teams must score soccer balls in their own goals to obtain points. Extra points can be earned for each robot not touching the field at the end of the match. This can be achieved by having your robot hang on a center bar in the middle of the field. More points can be earned if other robots are able to hang off of your robot. However, you can only lift your robot off the field in the last 20 seconds of the game.
